1044 fans braved the pouring rain at KONOHAGAKURE Stadium. UNITED tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Major - Wanke, Frank, Putiray - Tapku, Lianggono, Budiyanto, Minarelli, Zehavi - Pereira, Kudła.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Vankod. Lineup: Nyong - Rauf, Zulkarnaen, Saïdi - Berthonneau, Djohan, Hermain, Purba, Mulandono - Phimwana, Pöllänen.

Vankod clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Some great play up the middle by UNITED led to a chance for Şensoy Tapku to get the go-ahead goal in the 18:th minute, but the shot hit the crossbar. In the 19:th minute Esteban José Pereira almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. UNITED's Kusnaeni Putiray got himself booked for a foul. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, Zulfikar Zulkarnaen of Vankod spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. Some great play up the middle by UNITED led to a chance for Łukasz Kudła to get the go-ahead goal in the 31:th minute, but the shot hit the crossbar. The game was characterized by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but Esteban José Pereira showed great heart and had a good game. After a fine move down the middle Łukasz Kudła nearly gave the home side a goal in the 33:th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. It was 0 - 0 at the break. UNITED claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

UNITED could have put themselves ahead in the 58:th minute but Nurman Frank missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. UNITED had a good opportunity to take the lead as Bernd Wanke came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of Marani Nyong. UNITED were very close to putting themselves one up in the 62:th minute as Şensoy Tapku got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. 0 - 1 was the score in the 73:th minute, after Vankod's Santi Phimwana cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal. Nurman Frank of UNITED was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. This half belonged to UNITED, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

UNITED's best player was Tonton Budiyanto. However, Nurman Frank made a disastrous appearance. Vankod's top performer was clearly Santi Phimwana. Arjuna Rauf on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 1. :no: 8)
